The goal of the Child Protection Program is to re-enforce and help strengthen dysfunctional families in order to help such famalies cope successfully with stress; and a provide nurturing environment for their children. The program's success is not measured by those children who are able to adjust well to out-of-home placements, but by the number of parent(s) who are able to successfully undertake the responsibilities of parenthood.


Eligibility Requirements:  Any Indian from a federally recognized tribe living within the jurisdiction of
Roberts, Day or Marshall.

Service Description:  The Child Protection Program offers five (5) categories of services:

1). Child protection for abused, neglected or exploited children;

2). Child placement services or Foster Care
3). Adoption services
4). Licensing activities for adoption and foster care
5). Prevention services to “high risk” families.

Other Services Offered by this program:  Drug and alcohol assessments/evaluations and counseling,
Domestic Violence Inventory, Victims Index, Marital Inventories and “Common Sense” parenting classes. 
The parenting classes are open and free to anyone wishing to participate.
